SummerCamp 2006 – Next Round of Artist Additions

Wow. This SummerCamp lineup keeps getting so insane. First off, let me say it here and now:

Some form of String Cheese Incident will play at Summercamp this year. Perhaps they won’t be officially on the bill. But I’m willing to bet that at some point – most likely the Zilla Late-Night, most of String Cheese Incident will share a stage. Let’s break this down:

  1. Michael Kang – check (with Chris Berry)
  2. Michael Travis – check (Zilla)
  3. Billy Nershi – check (Honkytonk Homeslice)
  4. Kyle Hollingsworth – No Dates Scheduled for Kyle & Friends.
  5. Keith Mosely – No Dates Scheduled for Grateful Grass.
  6. Jason Hann – No Dates Scheduled to my knowledge.

Do you see how this is gonna go down? Even if Kyle & Friends or Grateful Grass don’t sign up to play, it’s likely those guys will still be there. A good week of camping, their bandmates, some damn good music….. They’ll be there. Not too mention go take a look at the lineup and notice how they emphasize “feat. Blank Of SCI?”  Other evidence: there is little chance of Horning’s Hideout this summer.
Now that we’ve established that, here’s the full lineup with most recent additions marked:

  1. If you go, make sure to check out Andrew Bird, ALO, and Glenn Kotche. Thanks for the info!

  2. Unfortunately I missed Andrew Bird down here in Urbana, but he’s high on my list of new artists to see at Summercamp.

I’m a big ALO fan for sure, I recently posted their Vegoose set, I believe it’s still live if you wanted to check it out. Jack Johnson sits in on a track and they cover “Viva Las Vegas.”

As far as Glen Kotche, I only know him from his work with Wilco, but man, it’s good stuff. I don’t need to tell you obviously, look at your name. I’ve been on the look out for some good Loose Fur stuff, I need to go get AqDrunk’s recent stuff from him. Any recommendations?

  3. Debby

Whoever makes it to the festival had to be sure to check out the new guy, Gran Bel Fisher. He will blow U away with his music & that bad ass piano!! Definitely worth a listen. Debby

  4. Thanks for the tip. Stayed tuned as he’ll soon be part of our Summer Camp Artist Series. And I’m always a huge keyboards/piano/organ fan.
