Summer Camp Artist #26 – Andrew Bird

Summer Camp Artist Series entry #26 is the violin-wielding Andrew Bird. Hailing from the land of Chicago, Bird is currently on a European tour, right up until his Summer Camp dates. He’s not exactly your stereotype Summer Camp artist, which is fine by me. Variety is the spice of life, or something like that. Today I’ve got a studio track from his 2005 release, as well as a live set and interview on Morning Becomes Eclectic, a California-based radio show.  As always, check out Bird’s website and befriend him on MySpace.

Wow, a folkie/classical guy. Not your usual jam band eaayhh?
I’m so regretting I don’t get to go to this summercamp thing. In a way it reminds me of tent camping in a pasture in Iowa, listening to bands for a few days, downing kegs for a few days, doing other things for a few days, no promoter involved…just a bunch of guys putting on a show on a farm. A great show, ahh the old days. Ha.
Hey people I hope you are entering this free ticket thing. I love that it’s available to you. Family Groove started it…BurningOak is continuing to pass it on…so it’s a good thing. Sounds like Sunday is the day to give it away. Call your mom. Especially if you are the winner!!
