Cameron McGill

Ok, today we’re covering Cameron McGill. Great relaxed rock type of music. If you enjoy Wilco, Ryan Adams, or maybe even some country you’ll probably enjoy this stuff. The first track off the album, “Long Way Back To California,” is the best contender I’ve heard yet to replace Phantom Planet’s “California” as The O.C. theme song, and because of that I have no desire whatsoever for it to happen, because man will I be sick of this guy if it does.

Anyways, I’ve got five great tracks for you that I’ve been hearing since last March. He came to visit Champaign last spring for a free show which I missed for some dumb forgotten reason, but hopefully he’ll be back around. Anyways, here’s four tracks off of Stories of The Knife and The Back and an “exclusive” track, all from his website, www.CameronMcGill.com. Check out the site to order the CD or to look into his new disc Street Ballads & Murderesques.

01 – “Long Way Back To California”

02 – “What The Hell (I Love This Girl Danielle)”

04 – “Oklahoma (Give Me Company)”

11 – “Up In Arms”

And the exclusive track:

Depression Glass

He has one listed upcoming show in Chicago:
01/26/2006
@ The Hideout, Chicago, IL w/ Edward Burch, Gray 8pm
