Also there has been plenty of confusion regarding Intonation and Pitchfork’s summer festivals, let’s get that all cleared up. Greg Kot, Music writer for the Chicago Tribune, reports on Intonation, Pitchfork, and Lollapalooza, all coming to Chicago within a month’s time. Here’s the article, and I’ve quoted him below.

Lineups for three major summer music festivals are starting to take shape. The Intonation Music Festival will return to Chicago’s Union Park on June 24-25 with The Streets and Bloc Party headlining the indie-rock event, which drew 30,000 people last year. Tickets will be $20, or $35 for a two-day pass. A limited number of two-day passes for $25 will go on sale Monday at www.intonationmusicfest.com.Tickets ($20, or a two-day pass for $30) for the Pitchfork Music Festival, to be held July 29-30 in Union Park, went on sale this week through pitchforkmedia.com.

The Chicago-based Internet music magazine last year ran Intonation, but this summer is running its own festival with former Intonation talent buyer Mike Reed. The festival will include 36 artists from the indie-rock, rap and electronic worlds, including Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Mission of Burma, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, The Mountain Goats, The National, Jens Lekman, Tapes `n Tapes and Hot Machines.

Also in the works is the 2006 Chicago International House Music Festival, July 22 and 23 at the Charter One Pavilion on Northerly Island. Headliners will include renowned deejays Frankie Knuckles and David Morales and singers Jocelyn Brown and Barbara Tucker. The event will include some of the most celebrated figures in Chicago house music, including Jaime Principle, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Ralphi Rosario, Lady D and Andre Hatchett, according to promoters.

In addition, the 130-band lineup for Lollapalooza, Aug. 4-6 in Grant Park, will be announced Thursday, promoters said. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have already said they will be among the headliners.
