Back today with some more World Cup action. Ukraine just put a hurt on Saudi Arabia’s chances of going anywhere after today. Good, that’s how I called it in my pool 😉 . Anyways, I know nothing about the Ukraine, other than my roommate keeps yelling “THE UKRAINE IS STRONG!!!” everytime they score since we both wanted Saudi to lose today. I knew it touched Poland and Russian, and that’s it. I assume it shows up frequently in movies like The Peacemaker or Behind Enemy Lines, since those movies are almost always about non-descript eastern European satellites. Whatever lol, here’s some tunes.
Ruslana – Znaya Yu (Remix). This track is a fun little remix by some superstar hot woman from Ukraine, known only as Ruslana. She’s got some other dance-like tunes and some more traditional-sounding stuff at her website, I recommend checking it out, even if you’re only going to look at her. If anything check out this picture, I mean how can that woman not look gorgeous while chilling with a wolf.
Mansound – Stevie Wonder’s Rocket Love. This name wierds me out a little, but Mansound is an “a cappella sextet from Kiev, Ukraine, who got their start in 1994.” At least that’s what the website tell me. They’ve got some sweet tracks available, but I chose this English medley of Stevie Wonder tunes. The only part you can hear is Rocket Love since it’s cutoff, but you can hear more at their website.
Vitalij Kuprij – Burning My Soul. Apparently this guy is an accomplished classical pianist as well as a metal keyboardist both solo and for a prog-rock act. Don’t hear that too often. At least I hope you don’t. Anyways, check out more at his site, I chose to feature his rock side a little bit. This track, “Burning My Soul,” features a bitchin’ keyboard solo for an intro, and one hell of a first minute. These Ukraine guys kick the shit out of EVERY 80’s metal band I’ve ever heard. Except Journey. I love Journey.
