Summer Camp Artist #04 – Cornmeal

Our fourth Summer Camp Artists Series feature is on Cornmeal. Cornmeal is a 6-yr old Bluegrass/Jam act out of Chicagoland with a penchant for live shows and jamming the shit out of them. I handpicked an incredibly good show from Canopy Club in Urbana this January, which sadly and stupidly I didn’t make it to. This show happened to be the same night Coal Train played. I won’t be making that mistake again when they come around in April or during Summercamp. They’ve got a sweet name and my god can they jam. If you need any reassurance of this just check out “Midnight” or “River Gap” below, and then listen to the amazing cover of Talking Head’s “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).” It’s insanely good, perhaps even better than the String Cheese Incident or Arcade Fire versions. This full Urbana show was hosted here at Archive.org.
