Summer Camp Artist #12 – Brothers Past

Brothers Past

Woo Hoo! It’s time to get the ball rolling on this week’s Summer Camp Artist Series additions. Let’s start it off with a very late Monday post – actually 10am Tuesday lol, what can I say, I’ve got a weird schedule. Anyways, hitting us at number 12 is Brothers Past, a Philadelphia quartet set to hit the Sunshine Stage at 7pm on Saturday. The band has been around since around 2000 and is now signed to SCI Fidelity records, home of String Cheese Incident among many other big jam band names. Everything I’ve been hearing so far from the band is gold, and the live show below is incredibly good. It’s a soundboard for one, in case that doesn’t grab you it’s an 8-track SoundBoard with a very skilled Recording / Mixing / Mastering engineer, so to say. But, back to the band. Ah screw it, just go hear the songs, they’re all that good.

As always, check out the band’s website and go befriend them on MySpace. Today I’ve got a studio track from their most recent release, and a live show handpicked by the band. Enjoy!

From 2005’s SCI Fidelity release This Feeling’s Called Goodbye:

Brothers Past – “Leave The Light On

The next set of tracks was actually featured on the band’s MySpace blog recently, and I thought that they introduced it so well that it would be a downgrade to hear me describe it. One personal note to this show. The recording is *perfect.* That said, I’ll let them do the rest of the talking:

“There’s a brand new Brothers Past show available for download and it’s the tits, plain and simple. Crystal clear sound quality, interesting song selection and guest appearances by Chris Michetti and Todd Stoops (the guitarist and keyboardist of RAQ, [another Summer Camp artist]) during the first set. If you’re looking for a great recording, where you can truly hear every detail of what the band is doing, then look no further. We give you Rich Steele’s multitrack of the 2/18/06 Recher Theatre show. Enjoy!!!”
