Summer Camp Artist #11 – Ernie Hendrickson and The Make Believe

Weighing in with the longest name thus far in our Summer Camp Artist Series, Ernie Hendrickson and The Make Believe is the big #11, which means we’re about a quarter of the way through all of the bands. The Chicago-based quartet just released their first full lenth album in March 2006, and had quite the release party including members of Umphrey’s McGee if I recall correctly.

Anyways, if there’s one thing I enjoy from this band it’s that they don’t seem to be pigeon-holed into one particular sound. From the material I’ve heard they’ve got a variety of influences and draw on all of them rather well. I’m gonna go ahead and recommend “Only A Dream” as my song of choice for the band, it comes off of their recent March 2006 release titled Only A Dream, oddly. You can find more information on the band on their website, and like all of our Summer Camp Artists you can go befriend them on MySpace, too.

From 2006’s Only A Dream:

“Only A Dream”
“Good Vibrations”
“Let’s Get Down”

Live from 11-19-2005, at Martyr’s in Chicago, IL:
