Keller Williams’ Grass

As posted on Keller’s site and reported by JamBands.com and LiveMusicBlog.com, Keller Williams’ new release Grass will be released January 2nd on CD. However!!! It’s available for download now from DiscLogic, and you can check out 30-second samples of each track. The album is actually being released as Keller and The Keels, Grass.

The album features some great cover’s, including Beck’s “Loser”, Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall”, The Grateful Dead’s “Dupree’s Diamond Blues” (Lyrics and song history), Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Breakdown”, and Karl and Harty’s “I’m Just Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail” (Also recorded by the Everly Brothers and Jerry Garcia Band) among other tracks.
Keller also rerecords his own tracks, “Crater in the Back Yard”, “Stunt Double”, and “Hepped Up On Goofballs”. The remaining track, “Local,” is one I don’t recognize. Here’s the full track listing:

With my luck he’ll pull out a few of these babies on New Year’s Eve with Umphrey’s….. One can only hope…..

Along with that NYE show Umphrey’s has just announced that they will be releasing a two-panel print set for each show that look sweet as hell in conjunction with ConsciousAlliance.org to raise money for New Orleans’ Food Kitchens. Get more info here, they’re only going to be $20 for both on the nights of the show. Here’s some pics:

In other show news, The Disco Biscuits have a new drummer, and I in particular cannot wait for their Chicago show opening for Moe. on February 3rd.
