Well last night was Elsinore’s first night at Rehearsal Space, Canopy Club’s new Monday night gig. Free cover, $1 Pabst’s, $1 wells, and a small intimate crowd, every Monday night, and each month a new artist takes over. January happens to be Elsinore. I made it a little late last night, but just in time to hear a few of the bands standards like “Parenthetical Reference Kate (PRK)”, “Carolina”, and some others I didn’t know by name. The band also had some treats in store in the form of an acoustic rendition of “Baby Got Back”, and a little later a cover of Ryan Adams’ “Chin Up Cheer Up.” A friend of mine managed to get some video of their closing song, and it’s not much, but I’ll try to get it uploaded sometime soon. In the meantime, check out these two-minute samples of their tracks, and make sure you’re able to attend at least one of Elsinore four remaining Champaign-Urbana dates this January.
